Axelrod Knows How to Run Black Candidates

TNR has an excellent medium sized piece on David Axelrod's success at running black candidates - and giving whites permission to vote for them. Remember all the hulabaloo over how Obama wasn't fighting back and going for the jugular when he was getting smeared by HRC and McCain? Well, it sounds like that's an old middle-of-the-road strategy that Axelrod has used succesfully many other times. It makes him look like a genious. A white guy who knows how to use a black guy's narrative to appeal to whites.
