I gotta say, I love Al Franken. My dream is for him to do a speech in the senate chambers with that old helmet on with a satellite on top of it, like he did on SNL.
Politically, though, my gut tells me that it is not going to help the Dems on the long-run to have 60. One of the great truisms of leadership is that when you are in power you are expected to perform at a higher level than when you are out of power. And, unless some new Dem leadership shows up (I like OBama, but Reid & Pelosi are less than appealing) then this 60 will turn into something much less pretty soon. Thoughts?
If the 60 were all on the same page yes but this set of 100, as it's been for some time, is more crooked than those squirrelly bastards in "Gladiator".
